The quick-load function allows to organize all your instruments, multis and banks in a way that makes sense to you.

If you are like me and have made a whole bunch of quick-loads you might want to back them up from time to time. This is really easy because the quick-loads are actually stored on your computer as shortcut files. All you have to do is to copy the right folder, containing all the quick-loads to a secure location (e.g external hard drive).

The Quick-load shortcuts are stored in:

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Native Instruments\Kontakt 5\QuickLoad

%USERPROFILE% is the location of your user folder on most windows computers. This can be replaced with for example C:\Users\Joe

If you want to restore these files on a new computer make sure that:

1. The location of the actual instruments, multis and banks are stored on the same location. For example, if you have your Kontakt instruments on an external hard drive, the hard drive has to have the same drive letter on the new computer.

2. You have installed Kontakt first and restore the shortcuts to the same location.
